Project Isaiah is utilizing a Community Participatory Action Research approach to address school based trauma

Phase 2 (If funded)

From Research to Action

In our first year, Project Isaiah focused on listening, learning, and documenting — gathering stories and data from families across the U.S. to better understand how school-based harm impacts Black boys and their communities.

What Phase Two Will Include (If Funded)

  1. Resource Creation
We plan to develop healing-centered guides and tools for educators, families, and community organizations — translating research into practical strategies that promote belonging and resilience.

  2. Training & Technical Assistance (TA)
Once funded, Project Isaiah will launch customized training and coaching opportunities for schools, nonprofits, and youth programs to help shift systems from punitive practices toward creating learning environments that are strengths-based and center connection, regulation, and healing-centered engagement.

  3. Community Education & Storytelling
We hope to share our findings through presentations, community conversations, and digital storytelling, amplifying the voices of youth and families whose experiences inspired this work.

  4. Laying the Groundwork for The Bloom Village
Funding will also allow us to begin the initial planning and partnership development for The Bloom Village — a future healing-centered educational hub where children can learn, grow, and lead.

Why Support Matters

The insights from Year One made it clear: change is needed and possible. We could relocate to where resources are more plentiful or we can build what we need here!
With financial support, Project Isaiah can move from research to real-world action — creating safer, more supportive learning spaces for every child.
